Accessibility
English learning should be open to everyone.
Dersify is used on phones, tablets and laptops, often on unreliable connections. We design it so that as many people as possible can use it comfortably.
What we build in
Keyboard access
Pages can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus indicator and a “Skip to content” link at the top of each page.
Readable contrast
Text colours are chosen to meet a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against the surfaces they are used on.
Reduced motion
If your device is set to reduce motion, Dersify turns its animations off.
Clear structure
Pages use headings, landmarks and labelled form fields, so screen readers can describe and navigate them.
Automated checks
Interface components are checked against WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules with automated tests during development.
Mistakes are not red
In learning activities, a wrong answer is shown as “not yet” in amber, with words — never by colour alone.
Where we are
Automated checks find many problems, but not all of them. Dersify has not yet been through an independent accessibility audit, and we don’t claim full conformance with any standard. We are working to improve, and your feedback helps.
Tell us about a problem
If something in Dersify is hard to use, please tell us what you were trying to do and which device and browser you used. If you are a learner or instructor, you can also contact your institution.
